Slieve Gullion Project (Phase 1)

Mount Kearney granite boulders were chosen by the Mourne Heritage Trust on behalf of Newry Mourne & Down District Council to improve and restore walkways on the beautiful mourne mountain of Slieve Gullion.

Boulders were handpicked from the quarry and delivered by Mount Kearney to the foot of Slieve Gullion mountain where a SKYHOOK Helicopter airlifted the tonne bags to the top. Once safely deposited at the top, Hamiltons Enviornmental who specialise in rural access and habitat restoration, commenced the challenging task of maintaining the paths and walkways.
