Mount Kearney bespoke granite boulder arrives at Diddly Squat Farm

Mount Kearney hand picked the perfect large granite boulder for Jeremy Clarkson from our own Granite Quarry in Newry, Co.Down.

Boulders this size and scale are a rare find. An excavator was used to transport the boulder from the floor of the quarry.

After determining the desired size and direction of cut, the boulder was positioned in place to be cut by a heavy duty saw.

The stone cutting process can be lengthy depending on the size and width of stone. While the blade grinds through the natural stone, a water pumping system runs water over the blade and stone during cutting in order to keep the blade cool and minimize dust.

The cut stone is now ready to move to the workshop for engraving and polishing.

 This beautiful piece of natural granite stone is now ready to be transported by Mount Kearney Quarries to its destination-Diddly Squat Farm. ‘Diddly Squat Farms’ name & logo was carefully engraved & painted by hand. Producing this unique, exquisite, work of art .

Jeremy Clarkson was extremely happy with this huge piece of rock. He took a further five bags of our pink and silver toned decorative granite stone to use around his farm.
